## VAT, reverse charge and CIS for landscapers

Landscaping for homeowners is standard-rated at 20% if you're VAT registered.

Soft landscaping like planting and lawn care is generally outside CIS, while hard landscaping such as walls, paving and drainage can count as construction work. If in doubt, check HMRC's CIS guidance or ask your accountant.

If you're not VAT registered, BrewQuote shows no VAT and says so on the quote.
